Nothing coming out of right exhaust

2018 530
Runs fine, but first noticed that the left exhaust pipe gets a little sooty while the right one does not.

Then noticed that while the car is idling, plenty of exhaust comes from the left pipe and virtually nothing out of the right.

Is this normal ?

I think that's by design - the right side only opens under full throttle for better sound.

Yes - totally normal... Only uses right side when you are pushing it on! Does look odd though when exhaust is only coming out of one side, just about the only feature of the car I don't like!

Would be nice if it could be set to use the exhaust in the middle of the road, and only use the kerbside exhaust when pushing on. Obviously would need to be settable according to the side of the road being driven on, but it could be smart enough to know it's location and auto-set.

Just from a pedestrian perspective.
