UK GAP Insurance

Aware that GAP Insurance purchased independently of BMW dealerships is invariably much cheaper, can anyone help with benchmarking whether £319.00 for three year's cover on a Back-To-Invoice policy for a new X3 M40i seems reasonable? Cheers.

I took mine out with ALA which was £370 for a 4 year replacement plus policy which also allows for price increases rather than just back to invoice value

My 2nd policy with them but never claimed, although they seemed to get good reviews

£334 for me (4 years) for Replacement GAP which is better option than Invoice GAP.

Mine's through gapinsurance.co.uk - quote BBMW10 for 10% off (babybmw forum discount).

I chose car2cover combined GAP/RTI. GBP 236.00 for 4 years. Cover seemed pretty comprehensive to me, none of the common exclusions (no market value clauses for the RTI cover, and it covered factory fitted options and dealer fitted accessories). Did some research for customer satisfaction and came out pretty clean (they all have some dissatisfied customers). They do have a more expensive option if you want cover up to current retail value, if I recall correctly.

Garage List
I got mine through ALA, for 4 years replacement cover for my heavily spec'd M40i I paid just over £300 using the discount code MSE25

I did plenty of research and ALA seem to have a good reputation.

Thanks Chaps.
For the record, that quote was with ALA too so think I'll proceed.
Car has just arrived at the dealership so am picking up next week.
Whoop. Whoop.

Hello all.
I've just got an ALA policy too. With a 10 month old X3, don't want to be out of pocket should the worst happen. Saved more that £250 on what dealer quoted

What I did find odd - or maybe not as I didn't buy any add-ons - had the car 8 weeks and not one call from the dealer asking if I was getting on OK/was I pleased etc.... on a £40k plus car..... talk of lack of customer service.

Having had a Mini in the family for years, my local BMW/Mini dealer (not same as where I bought X3) always calls to check I was happy with their services.
