take it for good test drive -to make sure you don't vibrations in steering wheel at 45-65mph when giving it the gas-it can feel like your holding a vibrator in your hand-no joke-has been a problem with the m40i-look it up

Or just get the car, enjoy it, and ignore any internet scaremongery.

I haven't had any steering wheel vibrations other than the lane departure warning. You'll enjoy the car, and I can see why it's a best seller.

It's also interesting to note that the Q5, GLC, RDX and XC60 (tied with the XC90) are the best selling models for their brands.

I think performance SUV is the way to go for most of us. It's great for family, its not incredibly stiff, enough HP/torque to have some fun.

I wouldn't pretend the handling is comparable to a comparable sedan/coupe or even wagon (which they refuse to sell in US). I drove down highway 1 in my audi a5 a while back and m40i recently, and even though the a5 had 100 HP less, it was a better drive. Once it got on the straights though, the m40i was much more of a blast, especially over taking in single lane situations.

Sorry if you think this is some kind of scare tactics-just trying to give a heads up about a problem that about 50 known people are having with the m40i-beat of luck with your car-no really

I've never experienced any such issue with my m40i.

Exactly. Performance SUV gives you a little bit of everything, with more space. The only trade off I see is The X line appears to have more service time then the typical 3 or 5 series
