Shopping for a new 540xi!
I am planning on shopping for a new 540xi and was wonder what discounts I can expect to get from buying a leftover 2018 or should I go for the 2019 model year 540xi. I was told that there is not any real change between them other then the model year. Any particular time that is more appropriate to begin shopping for a better deal? End of November? Or is December better? I am leaning towards order a build 2019!
Should I use a professional negotiator to do the deal? Is Costco really that bad? Thanks for any opinions or help that will help me get a better deal! |

My approach was to look at online broker prices, print out the best deal I could find, and then put that in front of my local dealer who I have bought cars from before. They matched the online price (hit me a bit on the px but given the deal on the new one I couldn't say no!). That would be my approach - research online, but then deal with someone face to face at your preferred dealer.

Yes I did the same thing to elaborate.
Found the best deal (carwow in my case) printed out along with a print out of a used car as close as possible to my old car and walked in with a printout of the spec I wanted, how much I wanted to pay and how much I wanted for my old car. I think at that stage the dealer knows that you have your facts , you know what you are talking about and there is less wiggle room for them go. I can imagine many people walk in without this and as a result may not get a good as deal as they might do.( still walk out happy though) I also stated I didn't want cap knsuarnace as I had got that elsewhere for cheaper and didn't want any paint sealant applied. |

I keep on raising my built on bmwusa.com. I started out at $69K and now it at $82K! I left out the safety stuff that added together was around the $4.9K and then I was thinking it relative cheap to the over cost of the vehicle add that on and then wanted to have it unique and added in the special paint, special trim and wanted to have better handling since it is a sport sedan - added in the dynamic handling package $3.2K but just could not bring myself to do the merino leather seat option I think was $3.3K! Just keeps on adding up and then the destination charge of $995! But I going to let it soak in and then look it over each day until I think it is all I every wanted. I realize that 1st year depreciation is 15%+ too. Dam shame too!
I counting the end of November and December in hope that BMW will offer some 540 incentives, rebates totaling $3K-5K. So I figure I can get at least $10K off; the BMW incentives will pay for my auto insurance premiums and maintenance cost for the first year. I think the oil changes are free for the first owner too. |

I'm also looking to get into a 540xi. I was hoping the rates were gonna change for the better in November, but it looks like they're the same. I dont know whether to wait it out towards the end of the month or just get it. Does BMW traditionally add incentives within the month?
