I had the BMW logo caps on my e46 330i. Two problems:
1. With the stock rubber valve stems the weight of the caps actually caused the stem to flex and I ended up with very small scratches on the wheels. All four wheel eneded up with this problem. 2. I had someone steal 2 of them leaving me with an incomplete set. Don't understand why they didn't take all 4.

I have had them on my cars since XMAS. Someone did steal 2 of my OEM caps. What I did was put some anti seize compound on the valve stem threads and then tightened the caps VERY tightly with a small open end wrench. Makes them much more difficult to remove with fingers. I keep a small ignition wrench in my console for removal if necessary.

My guess is that the scratches occurred from driving at excessive speeds. My E46 330 topped out an indicated 130 or 135 (don't recall). Nevertheless I did have it up there a number of times and I suspect that is when these scratches were created.

I have black ones, so they are less noticable... Danny

Just buy locking valve caps. I did after my VWs first set were jacked. You just have to remove them every so often and clean so they don't freeze up on you and you have to take a vise-grips to them to get em off.
