Seen quite a few folks having issues with the X3 which is unfortunate. Wanted to say I've had no issues in 6 months.
Also wanted to mention, that I completely love this M40! It's a lot like a GTI on steroids that decided to hide itself in a luxury SUV. I've had 3 GTIs in my life and loved all of them. This M40 is right up there in the love factor.

The first new car I bought was a GTI...does that count?
It was a great car, if a bit less reliable than I would have liked (had to have CV joint, idle control valve, and fuel pump replaced all in the first 30K miles). |

Lets hope not. I had my 2016 GTI engine replaced at 1600 miles due to an unfixable oil leak that had it in the shop over 4 times for several weeks total. VW wouldn't buy it back but they gave me $500 for my troubles.
I absolutely loved the car, but that turned me away from VW. |

With any car there is always going to be issues. This is to be expected on first generations as well. BMW will work it out though. I've had my own minor complaints but all around happy with the car esp. when I put my foot on the gas.

Got to agree. I had a GTI a few years ago.
Probably more of a grown ups car - M40i not admired as much by the Glaswegian Burberry brigade - which is a huge bonus!!!! (Not everybody on here will know what this means!). |
