2018x3M40i Passenger restraint system malfunction

Hi,
Has anyone seen this issue before? ( Passenger restraint system malfunction >> Service request>>> Carefully drive to the closest service center. Passenger restraint system is limited. Increased risk of injury in case of a collision. Continue wearing safety belt. )

It's my first BMW , and I owned it for a year, it had 13,000 miles on it. I will contact the local dealer to fix this problem.

I had this issue. It was a sensor that needed to be replaced.

Keep Seat Warmers on! ????

Took mine in to the dealer yesterday for regular maintenance and had them look at this. He claimed issue was a small amount of water that had gotten on the seat due to either high humidity (which we have plenty of here) or during a recent rainfall when passenger got into the car wet, was causing the problem. Said that BMW simply suggested I keep the passenger seat seat heaters on for a few days and said it would clear up. He said their only fix was to take seat out and run a fan over it for a couple days. Neither sounds like an appropriate fix to me. I'd much prefer them actually replace the sensor, since it seems far more likely that that is the issue. But that requires them to spend money since car is still under warranty!! Bastards....
