BMW NA... May We Have Your Attention, Please?
Hello, BMW. Thank you for bringing to market the G05. It's a wonderful achievement. So wonderful in fact, that there's quite a few people contributing to this forum who've bought one... and I'm confident there are many more who've never heard of Bimmerpost who've done likewise.
Problem is, in many cases, our customer-sold cars have arrived at our dealers... but we're unable to take delivery, due to what we understand is a BMW corporate decision regarding release date. Even more frustrating, there is widespread confusion over exactly which day we can add these amazing vehicles to our families. There's a lot of frustration out here; to wit, have a look across the many threads here where your customers have expressed it. Some of us have already -- and others are scheduling times with their client advisors -- visited their new cars... knowing we can't yet drive away with our purchases. Having been with my new X5 earlier this week, I can tell you I was filled with both ecstasy and anguish. Please authorize your dealer network to release these cars immediately upon completion of dealer prep. Minimally, please confirm what many of us have been told: that customers may take delivery of their factory-ordered vehicles beginning November 1. Thank you for listening and for considering this request.

I would add to the letter that BMW should address what will happen to those with early build dates that have cars still in ports apparently being fixed. Later build dates will get their new X5s first.
In the long run, all of this will be forgotten. Just a bit of a bungled release. |

I'm a Sales Advisor...
After 11/11 is the first day we can sign-out an X5.

This is exactly what I was told in Florida yesterday. So Monday the 12th is the day for pick up.
So, there is NO distinction between Sold cars and inventory cars with respect to delivery dates? |

There is a lot of confusion about the release date. I have heard 11/1, 11/10 and 11/15

We heard 11/4.
The problem is that the cars are not ready, and I think BMW rushed them out. The Stop Sale recall is an issue. I tried to get our car to do perpendicular parking - and it refuses. There are trim mixups that I don't even want to post. |

I went to a bmw sponsored event tonight to see the x7 and the m850 and it was a nice event. i ask the bmw reps why so much confusion on the order guide and getting these cars out and they had no answer and were not even aware of changes to the order guide. They suggested i look at the x5 at the dealer and i then informed him there were none to see in our state. He said there are plenty in California.
A dealer standing next to me then started complaining that he had cars on the way but had no idea when they would get here. They were asking for pre-orders on the new x7 and i told them why would anyone want to pre-order when you cant even get any information on a real order. |

Hmm, is there a strike going on with the Union worker at Spartansburg?
They screw up some of the build and now no cars can be released? But seems that everything are fine with G01/G02 side of the production.

I feel for the workers. They assemble the cars but the parts and software are from other places. Not much they can do but I am sure that BMW will have the kinks worked out soon.

Delivery Week---hopefully
This week will hopefully be a great week for those who ordered a car and have it delivered Nov 1 or 2nd. For those of you who have cars with this scenario, I'm hopeful for you that your dealer will make good on this date and I'm even more hopeful that the rest of us can use what ever information gleaned to help us move our date from Nov 11 or 12th. Please keep the info coming on what your dealers are telling you and post pics/impressions if you're fortunate enough to take delivery.
BMW: Now would be a great time to set the recored straight on SOLD car deliveries vs Inventory cars and inform your dealer network of the same! |

I've heard the release date is 11/10. Problem is it seems like a new recall comes out every other day for the G05
Edit: Just got confirmation we can start deliveries tomorrow 11/1 Last edited by JasonX4MComp; 10-31-2018 at 12:08 PM.. |

After hearing about all the planned Nov. 1 and 2 deliveries on this forum, I sent an email to my CA requesting he get with his GM and reconsider his prior release date of Nov 11. Seems to have worked as I am picking it up this Friday. Be persistent!
