Discount off "build your own" MSRP?

Hey guys, wanted to get some insight on the flexibility of pricing when it comes to the "build your own" option. Does anyone have any experience with this being a newer model and all? I'm looking into the new 2019 X4 M40I which comes out to $64,900 for me when built. Curious what the wiggle room might be on this?

Thanks

I built my own. MSRP was $68,120, I got the dealer down to $57,900 before tax, title, and licensing. There's room, but it will be dependent on the dealership. Some told me that they couldn't go below what was essentially invoice prices. Others were more competitive.

The build you own option allows you to shop around at dealers beyond just those immediately local. If you also take advantage of the Performance Center Delivery, which I recommend, it's possible the only time you interact with the dealer is to finalize the paperwork and purchase the vehicle.

You open to Performance Center Delivery? This lets you order from any dealer in the country.

I'd say 7% minus incentives is super reasonable.

Some people here claim that they can get more 12% or more off minus incentives. I've never been able to.

Wow thank you for that insight! My local dealer was really tight on price when getting our last 428I Gran Coupe, to the point where we literally had another dealership 5 hours away send us a car off their lot for a much better deal.

I'll definitely take your advice on that

That was the total off, with rebates/incentives. So that flexibility might change depending what is being offered during the period.

Good to know. I was able to get about 7K off on our 428I Gran Coupe, but not through the local dealership.

Ordered our X4 M40i at a whopping $72,170. Going out the door with a little under $69k financed. That includes a $2,000 rebate for the X4 currently going on and another $1,200 in some other rebate they had going on, a little bit down, etc....

My X4 m40i was just over 74K they brought the number down to just under 69k plus incentives and financing thru BMW got another 1.5k off all together I paid 67.5 on an originally 74k so what ever that equates to. I use a local dealership because I also will need service and I personally would rather pay an extra 1-2 k knowing that same dealership would be my service, as opposed to buying it on the other side of my city or in Ohio where I know they offer more discounts but then having to face them once or twice a year as that cheap bastard who bought somewhere else so take your time. lol
