17" wheels for 335 E90 ?
Hey guys,
Went Autocrossing this weekend in San Diego for the first time with my E90 335i, it was a lot of fun, but the amount of tire wear is just ridiculous.. The stock tires won't last 3 of these events Looking for a cheap dedicated wheel tire combo for autocrossing/tracking Someone at the event had 17'' rims same size on all 4 corners (I think 235)and he said he got them from Tire Rack and that they are the only 17" that would fit over the 335 brake rotors.. Went to the Tire Rack and could not find them.. Does anyone know if they are discontinued or any other solution for a cheap dedicated wheel tire combo ? |

Look under winter tires/wheels. They hide all the 17" wheels in there.

They are on sale for $600 shipped for a set of 4 17x8 and they do clear the 335 brakes with no problem |

Are you talking a set of racing slicks? or do you just need a sticky tire that's cheap?
I used to replace my Perrelli P7000's on a regular basis... like every summer. and they were pretty inexpensive for 235/40 in all 4 corners. Sticky and cheap... though I never tracked my car. Good luck!

No, not racing slicks..
I will do 1-2 autocrosses + 1-2 track weekends / year Given the cost of our stock tires, I figured it's more economical to buy a set of dedicated 17" rims + cheap tires I have just confirmed that I can do this for $1100-1200 Vs. a set of Non RFT 18" stock size PS2 or the RFT's either of which will cost more than the 17" dedicated solution Rims and tires combined... I will wait and see how much tire wear I get at Button Willow, I hate the stock RFT's anyway ... After that I will decide what to do So the question is, does it make sense to have a dedicated 17" set? |
