Dipping Mirror with Comfort Seats

Hi all,

I've seen a used G31 with comfort seats (ordered separately, not part of a pack). I've asked my local dealer if the passenger mirror dips on reverse. He has come back and said "No", and I would need to order the folding mirrors. I'm sure I read on these forums that they do dip if you have full electric or comfort seats or it's possible with a software update (with those options)

Can anyone clarify??

Cheers.

I have a g30 540 with comfort seats and it dips.

I thought that in order to this function you needed comfort seats OR full electric (ie with memory) which and option over and above your normal seats.

Very easy to test obviously as long as the button on the driver door is switched to the position to allow it

Thanks for getting back to me. Do you have the comfort pack or folding mirrors option?

Neither
Just comfort seats as an individual option
U.K. model as well in case that makes a difference.

Just make sure when you reverse the mirror switch on the drivers door is in the right position. It's the switch you use to define which mirror side you want to adjust

Appreciate the advice. I've decided to buy the car. I won't find out if the mirror dips, until the car arrives at the dealership.

Ok well as usual here post pics when you get it.
Whatever the result , it's a fantastic car, a real step up from the f10 in my opinion.

I think so. I'm coming from an F31 with Adaptive Suspension on standard 18", as much as it's a great car to drive, I do find the F31 to be quite unrefined. My missus brother has a F10 MSport on standard suspension and it's much more refined car in virtually every aspect. For the G31 I test drove the standard MSport suspension + 19" and it was great.

Roll on G31. Thanks again for the help.

Automatic folding mirrors are not standard in the UK. Having automatic folding mirrors does not mean having dipping mirrors on reverse

Comfort seats/comfort package or full electric seats come with dipping mirror on reverse but not with automatic folding mirror

I've got the folding mirrors that dip on my F31. It is a bit naughty to make you spend a crap load of cash just to get the dip.

For me I don't really use the folding mirrors, the dip is more useful.

Is everyone happy with this ?
I found it very useful in my earlier cars but I had to disable this feature in my G30 - mirror dips a lot, so much that it is useless.
Looks like no one has this issue

Is be surprised if this couldn't be coded? I did this on my F31, there is a setting where you can change the dip angle.

I hate the dip. Makes backing out of my garage a crap shoot. I turn it off first thing.

I've dug around my coding notes and I have these listed under the door mirrors:

FEM_BODY
ASP_HORIZONTALE_MIN_POS
ASP_BORDSTEINAUTOMATIK_DELTA

It's been 5 years since I last coded/retrofitted a ProNav. So please check esys at your own risk.

I fold my mirrors before I enter my garage and don't unfold them until I leave. But it does drive me nuts that the passenger side dips when I am finishing backing out so I turn it off.

Interesting. Apologies, I have to disagree as this is not true for my car. I have a UK spec G30 530d SE bought new, specc'ed by me, with the option of automatic folding / dimming mirrors, S4T8A and I can promise you it has never been coded. The car does not have Comfort Seats nor does it have the Comfort Pack. The nearside mirrors dips just fine every time I reverse the car (just as it did on my F10 when I specc'ed the same option). The only difference on the G30 is that nearside mirror does not have the auto-dimming glass.

Do you have full electric seats ( with memory) by any chance?

May be there are regional or build version differences
