New build: Lose Traffic Jam but get the leather credit??

Hey guys!

I have the option to move my production to a slot that would offer the leather credit (-$1450) but it will also change the Driving Assistance Professional to Driving Assistance Plus which will lose the "Extended Traffic Jam Assistant for limited access highways". End of production for Plus is 11/18 and start of production for Pro is 12/18.

My initial thought is take the money, but I’m not sure what that Extended TJA is really all about and if it offers future functionality I may be left without.

Thoughts?

I have those options on my build and the leather credit. I think it’s not about when it’s built but when you sign the papers.

Agree. My G05 was ordered early and I got the credit but the build date is week 44. The credit is not offered now but is still on my order, I checked that yesterday.

Hmmmmmm

I just put my build in the system Oct 2. I understood at that time we were looking at a Dec production.
I was told the Leather credit is only for the first few cars delivered prior to December 1.

So perhaps my situation is different since I’m just entering the process now.

But if the end of production for Plus is 11/18 and start of production for Pro is 12/18, not sure what happens btwn those two dates. Doesn’t look like I can get the credit and the Pro at this point...or so I’m being told.

Do we even know if this special extended traffic deal is hardware based or a software program? Not much info out there.

You said you have the option to move your production to a slot that would offer the leather credit ... but you didn’t have that before? So your dealer is swapping you to an order placed early that either didn’t actually have a buyer or the buyer defaulted? I’d take that offer.

I’d take the credit.

The traffic jam on the various system works here and there. If you are in a dense urban center, maybe it helps, but how much more for the value to exceed the leather credit.

I ordered sooner due to the leather/gesture credit and fleet discounts on X5.

Again just my one cent worth of insight.

I read in the forums about the “leather credit”, and when I inquired to the dealer it was explained as I previously posted. So it’s (apparently) at this point move to an earlier production slot (available for reasons I don’t know) and get the credit, but lose the Traffic dealio. Or stay put and get Traffic dealio and no credit. I don’t live in a big city, so no traffic. But just don’t know what Tech comes with the dealio.

You are reading the difference between plus and pro inaccurately...they both have traffic jam. Check the ordering guide released 9/18.

The main difference between them is 5ar, which enables support in limited access highways, higher speed support, and also allows longer time hands off wheel.

If you go with an earlier build you are having your cake and eating it too. You can get the leather credit and still get the driving assistant plus package which will do 90% what the pro does.

Yes, I noted in my original post I was speaking about losing the "Extended Traffic Jam Assistant for limited access highways" which is 5ar. So you are correct it’s just those few extra tweaks.

And apparently cars must be delivered by 12/1 to receive the leather credit

I was told there the could be a way, in the future to upgrade Pus to Pro over the air for a fee like Tesla does it. The hardware is there already.

Sounds like a software feature that could potentially be coded like TJA is on a 2014 F15 but wasn't offered until sometime 2015.
