G80 M3 Renderings

Was reading online this morning and stumbled across some nice renderings..

Quote:
The sixth generation BMW 3-Series turns 7 this year, but its replacement is almost ready, and will say hello to the world from the 2018 Paris Auto Show floor, early next week.

BMW has already started the teasing game, partially revealing what appears to be the M340i version of the car, which should be good for at least 360 hp and 370 lb-ft (501 Nm) of torque, from a 3.0-liter inline six-banger.

This will be the range-topping version of the premium compact sedan, until the M3 breaks cover next year. The Mercedes-AMG C63 rival will sit on the same CLAR platform as the standard 3-Series models, benefitting from a significant weight reduction, and is expected to use a twin-turbo 3.0-liter straight-six engine developing more than 460 horses..

The M3 CS version of the F80 generation is good for 460 PS (454 hp / 339 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque, by comparison. So thanks to the weight saving measures, extra power, and other work, the new BMW M3 will be quicker to 100 km/h (62 mph), probably needing 3.7-3.8 seconds to get there.

While nobody outside Munich knows what it looks like exactly, one rendering artist gave it a shot at imagining the styling of the super sedan. In the digital renders, Aksyonov Nikita has combined the headlights of the teased 3-Series model, with a sporty body kit and lots of carbon fiber parts.

The car has an M3 CS vibe, but unlike the latter, it has dual exhaust tips at the back, just like the scooped prototypes.

that has to be the laziest "render" ever. the side parts are exactly an f80, and all they did was put that camera thing in the front bumper and the little indents into the headlights (even the grill is an f80 one). if you covered up the front bumper / headlights, it is just an F80 render. Not to mention the rear exhausts, when spy photos have been seen of a m3 g80 with quads just like every m3 for years.

Haha agreed, I think they took the front bumper and grills off the new M850

What bothers me about this one is the abrupt rear fender flare they tacked on.

I love the F80s rear wide rear flares but the flow of the G20 won't suit a traditional flare like that of the e90 and f80.

I think they will do the following: either 1) widen the rear fenders similar to the M2/M4 (just add more bulbous) or 2) leave them as-is like the M5 (I hope they don't do this).

why does it not suit a traditional flare? I disagree and think they can pull it off with the G20 lines. they are german, they can do anything.

I'm trying to find a good picture of it, but there is a second character line beneath the shoulder line that kind of bulges the entire rear flare out on the G20, similar to the current F32 4 series. It gives the sedan a more coupe-like look (I believe this was mentioned in an early G20 thread). I feel for the G80, they will just make this bulge wider ala F32 to F82 as opposed to the pronounced "ramp-like" flare of the fender ala F30 to F80... does that makes sense?

In all, if they do flare the rear fenders on this, I don't think it will look as aggressive/pronounced as it does on the F80... Hope I'm wrong.

The M3 sedans have shared the coupe series counterparts for the past two generations. We wont have any idea what the front end of the M3 will look like until the next generation 4 series (G22?) comes out.

These renders are pointless.

saw it too. Looks like they took the bumper from the M8 gran coupe concept. All of the air intakes on the bumper are obnoxiously large. They need to be scaled down

Found this in Instagram. The tail lights look better the way the bottom part of the 'L' sort of squiggles upward where it meets the trunk. I'd bet this is a design modification they're holding out on for the refresh in a few years

Hmm I hope not. Those rear F80 sell it to me. I'm not sure I get why it won't work visually on the G80.

What worries me more is that the G30 is quite a bit wider track so will there be as much width difference between the 3 and 4 this generation? That narrower 3 series is what made the F80 M3 looks so bulbous and powerful to take the same M4 running gear.

God please BMW same again for M3 saloon rear please...the world loves it!!

We made one based on the Car Lifestyle render but uses the colour scheme from our current project F80 M3, lowered it a little, gave the wheels a more aggressive offset and some M Mirrors.
