Rear tire width recommendation...

I have 2018 m550
staggered setup
668m wheels
Pilots SS non-RTF tires
F: 8x20", 245-35-20
R: 9x20", 275-30-20

I am planning to replace Pilots with all season Conti DWS 06. Having rear 285 width makes fronts and rears closer to each other as far as rolling diameter.. not sure about more contact patch if used on narrow OEM 9" wheel.
F: 245-35-20
R: 285-30-20
on my F10 with M5 343m wheels (10" rear wheel width), this is what I did.
What do people think about putting 285 tire on 9" wheel?

Based on my research, and post from others 245/35-20 has 8.5" as recommended wheel width, 275/30-20 has 9.5" as recommended wheel width.
BMW ships 1/2" narrower wheels from factory to minimize tire stretch and offer better protection for the wheels.

Thanks for advice

have you thought about just increasing the sidewall size by 5? I heard its possible but I am not sure, I am in the same dilemma now I have 668m wheels and there is almost no a/s tires or winter tires available. I was told that if I increase the sidewall by 5 (second number) that it is completely fine however I am unsure if this will cause any complications.

I went with Continental DWS 06 all season tires in the factory sizes. I use these on all of the cars in my family, even in 22" size on my wife's Tesla and we love all year round performance. I always buy from Tirerack as their road hazard insurance actually works.

Best regards to everyone

I have a question about the tires on my G30 (JC31) "520d mpaket".
The vehicle I have has OEM wheels:
"wheel double spoke 662M - 18"
245 / 45ZR18 100Y 8Jx18 ET30
275 / 40ZR18 99Y 9Jx18 ET44

My question is, can I put winter tires on the rear wheels of the same dimensions as the 245/45 R18 100V XL as well as on the front?
Has anyone put the 245/45 ZR18 summer tires in practice on
* OEM 9Jx18 ET44 wheel?
* Are there any problems with this option?

Thank you very much for your answers!

greetings from Croatia

Yes, you can put four 245/45/18 winter tires on your staggered OEM wheels.
I've done the same on my OEM 19" wheels, 245/40/19 winters on them.

Great. Thank you very much.
Please, how much to adjust the tire pressure for that combination?

I have used set for sale in the 245/35/20 front and 275/30/20 in the rear. The tires are only a few months old. Very good thread left. DSW stamp is still present on all four tires
