First in the world thanks to my buddy Yuriy, owner of A-Line Auto Service in Feasterville, PA. We ran into multiple issues making this work on the M2C but I can happily say we succeeded and the car looks nasty!

More pics in the sun. Not sure how I feel about the blue filters lol. Car feels nice. The maf on the passenger side is different then the one on the f80 m3. The driver side is identical. Happy I went with these as the car sounds really good.

How did you make it work? May have ordered a BMS intake this morning.

Only problem I have in this setup up is water getting into the engine. I would not drive the car like this in a heavy downpour. This is a major issue IMO with this setup that’s why bmw is not doing it themselves.

Exactly this. I don’t believe this is a good setup for people who live in areas prone to typhoons and floods. I drove through a water filled road and the water level definitely went up into the grilles.

Looks like a good way to block the airflow to the radiator and cook the engine? May want to do some R&D? Carl

This has already been proven, there are world record f80s running this setup. Maximum PSI and RK tunes and plenty of their customers have been running this set up on high HP F80s for quite a while now with no issues. AP just knocked them off.

The issues I see off the bat...
1) Reduced cooling air for the radiator. 2) Pulling water into the intake during heavy rain. 3) Road debris (bugs, tar, etc) clogging air filters very quickly. 4) Pain in the rear to clean/replace because you have to remove the grills. It looks cool, but I personally wouldn't do it. |

You guys need to read MaX Psi's thread about these intakes. They would never create something that was going to reduce airflow and although I won't be driving my car in the rain, the intakes have been tested in pouring rain. Any water that could potentially (very unlikely) get up through the intake piping would dissipate from the heat. I know a lot of you aren't from the f80 world but this has been a common theme for modified s55s for a few years now.

if the filters were smaller you could avoid most of the issues about blocking the radiator, it's an interesting way to get cooler air though.
