Side Reflector MA State Inspection Issue

Has anyone on here with body color painted side reflector had issues with passing the MA State Inspection? My car was refused for this. Said since February it has got a lot stricter. Its a pain the ass having to switch them out to just pass the test and then re-install!

Maybe get something like this reflective tape to cut to roughly that size/shape and stick over for the inspection then peel back off? Not sure how strict they would be but maybe worth a shot.

Holy cow which inspection station have you been going to?
I don’t have side reflectors on either of my cars and have not seen them bat an eyelash. However, if they did, I would use the side reflector tape. They can’t require you to have oem side reflectors and even if they did I would just cut the tape to fit the reflectors. Or find another shop. That’s ridiculous
