G05 Dispatched from factory!

My order just changed status to dispatched from factory. Says it is on the way to the dealership. Appears they are releasing them.

What build week were you?

Not sure the week number but it was built in early August, was in quality check status 8/13.

Anyone know how to translate a production number into build week? I have a production number, and was advised mine would be built some time in Nov. Would like to dial that in a little better.

Your Client Advisor at the dealership should be able to tell you this. Your build was assigned to a specific allocation / production slot given to the dealership.

At least that's how it's worked each time I've ordered. It's a pretty basic aspect of the process... again, based on my personal experience.

I have one that was released to the carriers as well. Weird that BMW is not using its typical carrier for X5. It was a week 36 build.

Forgot to add... FWIW

As it was explained to me by a CA (not mine), when a build/allocation flips to Customer Sold status 150, (typically at the point when you put down your deposit), there is a possibility that your production slot will be moved forward.

UPDATE: BMW is moving the cars out of SC and onto the regional VPCs to clear space in SC. They are still on release hold and dealer training will start later this month.

I saw two semis with new X5s on I-26 last Saturday. They are definitely shipping them.

Don’t disagree with what you are saying. If true, BMW might as well just dump the build tracker. This is like watching the Dominos pizza tracker and it says the Chet is delivering your pizza. Well actually he is stopping some where for a few days and will eventually get you your pizza.

It is just for the pre release period. The trainers have their cars now and dealer training will start soon.

I saw a new black G05 in Long Beach today. Only caught it for a second because it had turned down a different street. Back end looked better in person than in the pictures. Or maybe it was just the black color.

Follow-up on where the G05s went. Mine went from SC to Baltimore. Status now says “At Port”.

The regional trainers will grab their cars this week so yo may see those near your store. Ask your CA when the car will be at you local dealer.

I am sure they are shipping yours on a car ferry; you can pick it up in Duluth in a couple of months....

Like I mentioned earlier BMW shipped these cars to the "port" or VPC to make room at the factory.
