TPMS external interference
I just installed the laser interceptor to my car over the weekend. This morning driving to work I got a TPMS error message "TPMS external interference." Is the laser interceptor causing this problem or is it something else? The tires are ok from a visual inspection. I reset the TPMS but it the error message came back on the way home from work. Thanks in advance.
PS I am reposting this in the wheels section because I hope to get an answer.

I don't know how a laser interceptor works, but if you can shut if off, I think a reasonable test would be to...
1. Turn off laser interceptor 2. Reset TPMS 3. Drive If the error doesn't come back... 4. Turn on laser interceptor 5. Drive ...rinse & repeat. |

I get it occassionally as well. It seems to be something the TPMS is picking up in the atmosphere, but still makes me think the internal sensor is bad. It started happening for me after a new set of tires were install. The installer was very careful with the TPMS.

Interesting, I have HID fogs as well and this pretty much started (intermittantly) after I installed them.
Did you find a fix or just live with it?
