Trim noise

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone can tell me if the trim noise in a 2014 BMW 320i Sportline is normal? The trim around the radio system and around the stick make a cracking noise when touched. I'm worried if this noise will get worse in the winter due to the plastic shrinking. Is there a way to fix this? thanks!!

My 14 f32 does something similar. I notice it clicking ad well over rough roads sometimes.

Nope. It's normal in that the trim is mostly plastic and how it's mounted, there's a lot of flex because there's nothing behind it and it will get a lot worse in winter due to the temperature. My MINI, E90 and F36 all do it. I consider it a BMW thing along with failing window regulators.

If you have the time and patients, you can remove the trim pieces that are causing the issue and felt tape the contact points. FindTape sells felt tape but the very thin JVCC FELT-01 had been discontinued, I'm not sure how the FELT-06 would work at 1mm thick. Best if you can find the FELT-01 still out there in the market or find a different brand that offers thinner.
