So I bought a pair of Miro CSL reps from **********s when I got my car about a month ago. Love everything about the wheels up to this point. I bought the tires they recommended Gen. UHP ( 235/35/19 front and 265/30/19 rear) from tirerack because they were cheaper. Also decided to be smart and pick up the road hazard protection plan thing from tire rack on each of the tires. Besides the fact that my wheels are always dirty() I havn't had any problems, besides finding a wheel place around me who will touch 19's ( suggestions in the CT area would be great) until yesterday.

I get in the car and my TPMS is saying low pressure in my rear right tire. So i get my tire pressure monitor and check the pressure.. says 36 which is what the rest of the tires were at. I turned the car off and back on and the warning went away. I figured it was a weird fluke so I got in and went to the gym. On the way back, it went off again, and I pulled over immidiately and checked again. This time it was down to 33.5. I wondered if it was my pressure monitor so I went and got another one from autozone, and it still read the same. By the time I got home and checked I figured I had a slow leak from a nail or something, and PSI was down to 29.5. I filled it back up with an air compressor at my house and left it over night. Came back this morning and PSI was down to 22.5. Took the tire off and went to a goodyear service place where the tech checked the tire, and put it in water to inspect for air leaks. No nail, no rocks, no leaking air. He fills it back up says maybe it was a loose valve ( which he tightened). I get home, put the wheel back on ( now pressurized at 36 psi) and less than two miles into my test drive my TPMS goes back on. I get home and low and behold we're back to 22.5 psi. Now I'm really not sure what to do, because the tire place said they can't fix it if they can't figure out what's wrong with it obviously.. and tire rack's terms and conditions on the road hazard program seem like they won't replace it either if no one can figure out what the problem is.. can anyone give me some advice as to what I can do? I can't drive my car :'(

ZTZ, you said that you "took the tire off" but I'm assuming you took the wheel/tire off your car.... Did Goodyear remove the tire from the wheel? If the tires leak air only when driving, it usually points to damage to tire bead, which occurs if the tire machine operator doesn't know how to mount tires. You might want to check for tears or cracks in the bead of the tire.. you can only do this when the tire is dismounted. I also suggest getting this checked quick, so that whoever that mounted the tire can take responsibility.

Please note: Even though these are Miro wheels and we don't carry them, this isn't a wheel problem... i'm pretty sure its a tire issue. We have our own tire changing equipment and this is actually a known issue for low profile's.

yeah i meant i took the tire/wheel off. so i did some inspecting of my own only to find out the nut on the valve stem was loose. Tightened it a bit and what do you know, no more leak. just not sure how it got loosened or why all of a sudden it started leaking. drove it about 30 miles tonight and its holding air 100%. weird.

The nut on the valve stem... Do you mean the valve stem's cap, or the actual cap that secures the entire TPMS unit to the wheel? If the valve stem cap is all thats preventing air from coming out, then you've gotta get it looked at... Usually the tire needs to keep air with or without a valve stem cap. Usually a defective valve stem would leak regardless of whether you are driving on it or not.

I dont mean to be nitpicky on the description here, but make sure to check it regularly until the pressures are stable... If you drive on tires with low PSI, you'll destroy the tire.

Ok, yea so you tighten the TPMS stem. Well it sounds like you found your problem! Glad to hear it all worked out.

Those TPMS can be a pain sometimes. You can always check for tiny leaks around the stem with some soapy water to be sure. In any case, rock on!
