Is JB4 worth the money right now? Any word on other company releases?

JB4 is not very expensive so yeah probably worth the money depending on what you are looking for.

Don't really care much for more power. Really looking for cold start delete.

I would not tune a car to delete cold start.

If you're going to risk your warranty at least get some power gains in the process.

It is fairly new on the F90 platform and not really sure if it's still in Beta; I would wait to see how it performs once it's been out for a longer period of time. On the F10 M5 platform, I can say some people loved it while others experienced quite a bit of issues with it.

I've seen firsthand lots of issues with JB4.

Via tune but simply saying it's not worth it. There's no other way I am aware of.

While deleting cold start does not pose any real risk, if anything were to go wrong with your car rest assured BMW NA would deny the claim based on the fact your car is tuned.

I've seen a couple of stock F10 M5 with blown engines; not common but possible.

The F90 JB4 is a pretty clean and simple to use setup. We've seen times of 10.6@132 on map3 with good fuel, but the best part of the JB4 is it's a fully programmable tuning system so you'll see a lot more maps and updates coming out as BMS adds more stuff. The F90 JB4 is based on their electronic wastegate control board which has been in use since 2014 and is rock solid reliable.

The F10 JB4 v1 system was good but a bit of a headache to install with the BCM being an add on which sometimes introduced extra headaches. The F10 JB4 v2 system that came out a year or two ago with twin bank boost control and the integrated BCM has been really good. That was the system used to set the F10 M5 1/4 mile record of 9.9@140.

On the F10 M5 most of the major problems like blown engines have nothing to do with customers pushing a JB4 only but it's customers who go all in with lots of mods including an overly aggressive flash map with knock tables dampened. There was a specific flash map floating around that I know killed at least 3 engines. You really have to be careful with flash mapping because while you have a lot more control there is a lot more mistakes to be made.

Specially the price and that I can turn it off anytime

He had an aggressive back end flash for sure along with big turbos and everything else. I think someone bought the car from him, decided to run 30psi on 91 octane fuel instead of race gas, and cracked a piston.

Yes, very familiar with his car and everything he had (on top of the JB4) to propel that F10 down the 1/4 mile at 9.90 @ 140 mph.
