about have my order done but had a question regarding the sound. The dealer listed the b and w sound system and were sitting at a little over 100k. Removing that option would help the price.
How many of you guys are opting for the $3500 dollar option?

I stream music in pandora /YouTube on my drive to work. I wouldn't get the super upgrades sound system because the quality of the source is poor

Depends on your personal preference but if you want a nasty exhaust and drive with the windows down then will you ever get to fully appreciate the music inside?

So not much help here but thought I'd share.

Even with a compressed source, you should be able to hear noticeable differences in sound quality I would imagine, given the price tag. Bass is usually noticeable regardless of bit rate. You won't always have the windows down and the road may not always be noisy. If you are an audiophile and you are already spending close to $100k, I would say go for it. You're more likely to regret not getting it, than getting it.

Correct mine is delayed till week 48 production since I want the B&W.

The general consensus is that the B&W sound system is not worth the extra premium over the HK system. I have the HK system in my 2017 X3 and it sounds great. To put this in perspective, I was an audiophile in my younger years, and still run B&W loudspeakers at home with parasound amps, so I know what good HiFi sounds like.

I have B&O in current F15 and would not order G05 without B&W, too pricey yes but HK has very little bass imo. If you are seriously considering it then u will miss it unless u order. Again imo

Or get the HK system and buy the Bavsound Ghost subwoofers and the bottom end will be much improved, they're plug and play. I plan on transferring them over from my present X5.

I have the B&O in my F13 M6 and previous B7 as well as my current F85 X5M. Solid and way better than HK. In my G12 B7 the B&W is much more detailed and precise. I admit I play a lot of 16/44.1 and 24/96 hires audio files so I do hear the difference. Absolutely a better system than HK. And trust me I have great ears, a solid $120k home audio system to match.

Agree, if you listen to mostly lossless hi-res audio the B&W system is a better system for you but if you mostly listen to Sat. radio, CD's, MP3's, FM, etc., the differences will not be as noticeable especially if the bottom end of the HK system is beefed up which i think is it's biggest weakness.
Your home system must be amazing, a friend has the big Focal Utopia's in his system, listening to this level of audio is truly amazing.

Yes I have focal Sopras in the office with McIntosh tube amps. At home the Sonus Faber Il Cremonese with McIntosh Mc1.25kw amps and solid sources. Utopias are amazing, I own the headphones but the Stella and Grand are incredible.
