Brake pad weights

I see the latest part no, 34116878876 genuine pads have considerably larger weights on them than the old part no, I assume a bmw effort to combat the dreaded squeal, has anyone tried them with any success with regards to squeal.

Not sure if it will make any difference, my Ferodo pads have no weights at all and they are the quietest F30 pads i’ve had by a long way!
