Guys I think this is going to be like what happened to the new X5. It's not completely different. It has the same muscular body and roofline, but the general bodywork has been improved, front/rear lights, grille, interior etc. It worked for the X5, because the old X5 was a good base design. I love the new X5, I place it top in it's class.

The current RX isnt all that bad. It's just getting old. I remember when it first came out how great it looked back then. This new one has improved front/rear lights, grille and general bodywork that indicates to the LF-Xh concept. There is still a lot of camo hiding the bodywork. It looks like it will receive chrome rear lights but I hope it doesnt! Lexus moved away from that will the IS and I'm sure they wont go back to it.

The biggest change here seems to be the interior. Man it already looks so much better than the current one which is growing old fast! It takes hints from Lexus LF-A and LF-Xh concepts. It's smoother and has more class.

This will be interesting, because so far I love the X5 over everything else in it's class. Maybe Lexus can change that with a new direction? Time will tell. They are also preparing an LF-A with completely new design and it should be V10 powered!

It looks like a Toyota Highlander from the front and side with that fugly RX rear end we have all come to know and love. As long as those tail lights stay where they are and don't end up on top of the car, I think this may actually end up being a decent revision.

this car is one shitty car. they need to toss it away and get away from the toyota mindset then redesign it to compete with X5 or audis

Lexus needs to change the RX a little more than this (imho), widen and lengthen it, add a 3rd row, and increase the V6 power to 306HP, inline with the IS350 (as it shares the same engine). Yes, I know they have the larger V8 powered GX470 and LX470 with 3rd rows, but well, they're just plain fugly with 10-year-old styling.

Lexus can't build anymore boring car than the RX, for moms with gucci bags and bebe outfits. Who needs an suv to bring her one kid to school an mile away from home. Complete functional less suv.

I like the current RX. I mean what's not to like? It's about the same as an X3 but looks better and is more luxurious. If you want a bigger car there's the GX and the LX models to choose from. The RX was never meant to be a full size SUV so it doesnt need to have a lot of room nor 3rd row seatings.

I will have to say though that if I had the money and was looking at an SUV, the X5 would be my first choice. I absolutely love the new style.

Looks just the same as the old version. I wanted to buy RX in the past but it seems that the only people who drive it are women Lexus needs to step up to the competition and produce an X5 competitor. GX is ugly and LX is too big to be practical in the city. If they are targeting women with RX, at least re-design the GX.

most lexus drivers are woman.

Studies show that men purchase about 61% of the RX's. However most bought them for their wives. I rarely see a man driving one.

And good god, Lexus needs to get rid of those stupid folding arm rests, wood steering wheels, etc. and make an ergonomic car for once.

Well I agree with you in regards to the x5. The original was a solid template in which they greatly improved upon, and I'd also place it at the top of its class.

However, I think the current RX, and even this prototype, are ugly as fugg. I'm really, truly, not a fan of any sort of lexus designs...they just do do anything for me. I like bold, crisp design, which is just about the opposite of current lexus design language.

I'll reserve final judgment until I see the real thing as usual.

Let's not stereotype too much..... It is unfair to stereotype by gender and it is more accurate to behavior. The most accurate thing to say is ALL Lexus drivers are feminine.
