Seeing more available M2Cs around the nation
Seems to me there are quite a few more M2Cs being ordered and still available around the country comparing to when the OG M2 came out.
Could the M2 in general reaching capacity in a way the BRZ and GT86s have? As in people who want one already bought one and the new M2C aka "LCI 2", is not an attractive update or just simply too soon for people other than the newest product chasers to want to jump on. This is certainly interesting to see. |

There is one of I know of available, came in yesterday. The first unspoken for M2C was listed with $5k markup and sold same day.

I believe I bought the car you are speaking about, it is very very seldom I will defend a dealer but there wasn’t a 5k markup. I bought the car at MSRP. Not sure how that got started in the thread.

Tag was told in person the day the car came in that there was a 5K markup, but not sure who told him that - which is not what our SA told me (and obviously you as well).

When you search dealer inventories they will show cars in route and in stock automatically regardless of if they are actually sold or not. My car showed up on my dealers website when it was on the boat even though I had already paid for it and had the bill of sale. In the case of the first M2Cs many dealers are taking those first allocations and not making them available unless your willing to pay a markup. My local dealer has one that they want 3k over MSRP for. BMW has figured out how to trickle the M2 and M2c out at a volume that does a good job of balancing supply and demand so I wouldn't draw any correlation with the BRZ of GT86.
Certainly the M2 and M2c isn't for everyone and the pricing puts it out of the reach of many but I doubt it has reached a point of oversupply. Having said that it seems it is much easier to get an M2c than the M2 when it was early in production. There are only two more years of F87 production so I suspect supply and demand will match up nicely. |
