First Edition F90 M5 European Delivery Summer 2018

Hello all! I am super excited to finally be able to write this post and share with you my Euro delivery experience of my beautiful First Edition F90 M5.

Just a short introduction here of my past BMW cars and how I started to love BMW and BMW M. It is actually amazing; I never thought in a million years that I could own even a base BMW in my life. I grew up in Cairo, Egypt and didn’t own a car and couldn’t afford one even if I wanted to. When I was a kid, E30 M3 was the car to have, I also loved the E36 but my favorite car of all time is E39 M5 (guess I was always attracted to fast 4-door saloons).

Later, bizarre circumstances led me to meeting and marrying an American and I moved to the United States when I was 25 years old. Fast forward, I was thirty and buying my first BMW. It was the F10 M5 Competition in Alpine White with Black interior. I owned this M car for 2.5 years and loved it. Then I had the opportunity to sell my F10 M5 and leased a new F80 M3 Competition short term until I can get another M5 because it has always been my dream car.

Long story short, after exactly one year they announced the F90 M5 and of course, the First Edition F90 M5 and I was in love with the latter. I always had a good relationship with my BMW center and I put my name for a First Edition M5 but honestly never thought I would get one. One day they told me that they allocated one and I did not hesitate to go ahead and start the process for a Euro delivery of this very special BMW M car.

Lastly, if you have seen the Frozen Dark Red Metallic in person I would love to hear what you think, if you haven’t seen it in person please reserve your comments about it until you have. The color is special and the pictures in this post do not do it justice.

I convinced my wife to join me on the Euro delivery trip, because although she could care less about cars she loves to travel. We flew out of Charlotte on a Lufthansa non-stop to Munich. The Euro delivery program has a driver to pick you up at the airport. The driver took us to our hotel in the heart of Munich. We would spend three nights at that hotel before setting off to the next German city. Before leaving Munich, we took a day trip to the Neuschwanstein Castle and ventured a little into Austria. From Munich we traveled to Nuremberg. We then left Germany and drove to Prague then down to Vienna and back to Munich again.

Awesome car! I just did my first ED trip. It definitely won't be my last. We also went to Vienna; Austria is beautiful.

+1 love frozen colors, the First Edition color combo stunning! I'm all about the boldness and taking it outside your comfort zone. Personally, I can't stand plain vanilla stripper alpine white!!

Thank Allah you moved to US. If you were to remain in Cairo, cars there would be 4-5 times more and you will facing hardship just to make end meets.
