This is my understanding: no more 328d for MY2019, No X3 30d for MY2019, the 540d is not showing in 2019 online configuration. Scott told me that the odds are next to zero to get a X5 40d for MY2020. So I guess that it .

After going to a presentation at a local l dealer the lead tech talked about the issues occurring because of the increased required biodiesel %'s. Said BMW diesels were designed for around 5% (forgot exact # B7?) but my state mandates10% and supposed to be moving the 20% soon. Tech said in very carefully, legally worded , BMW will support the issues caused by the higher % for the length of the warranty. I wouldn't consider a diesel in my state at least unless I only planned to lease for 3 years. Lots of articles about BMW and issues with B10 and higher. Might be why they're not rushing to send them here. Check what your state mandates.
Just something to consider. |

This isn't good at all. Dont know what to do with after our 2015 X5 35d lease is up in mid November... Going to extend it 6 months and see what happens.

I currently own two BMW X5 cars a 2015 X5d and and a 2016 X5d. I am considering replacing the 2015 car. I am very disappointed to learn that the X5 diesel will not be offered in the US. I love the BMW straight 6 diesel engine. It not only has great power but it gets excellent gas mileage, as well as exceptional driving range.
BMW will likely lose my business without a new diesel X5 model. Very unfortunate!! |

Just saying what the tech said. As you pointed out, they have to be compatible, not guaranteed to last longer than 4 years/50,000 miles. Especially on 20%.
