Anyone managed to install? Can't fit it on all on a 32gb and won't work on 64gb.
Not downloaded from connected drive site. Thanks |

I downloaded mine from BMW connected drive last week and transferred it without issue via 64GB USB. I did have to change it to FAT32 though

Is there anyway of getting these updates for free? Don't fancy forking out £70 to be honest.
My 3 and a bit year old car obviously has never had a map update as it didn't know a 2+ year old road existed as I went down it last week. |

It wont fit on the 32gb drive you need a bigger one. Assuming your source file is sound, are you by any chance using a mac? if yes, you need to delete some hidden files the mac creates otherwise the car wont start the transfer.

The £70 map update is for 3 years worth of maps - not bad value considering they release at least 2 versions each year. Last edited by x-m4n; 08-01-2018 at 03:50 AM.. |

Anyone succeeded in d/loading 2018-2 from Connected Drive for Business Nav?
I get offered 2018-1 which I already have. My son got 2018-2 for Pro Nav no problem. |

Must be a staged roll-out as I tried again this morning and same result. Offered 2018-1.
Curiously when I installed 2018-1 BMW sent me an installation code which my iDrive did not request (and the install from USB finished OK). Now each time I cancel the d/load (of 2018-1) it sends me the same code again. What's the code for if the car does not request it? |

When you download it, there should be 5 folders (numbered 1 to 5) and a few files - for 2018-2 it was 3 files.
You can use anywhere between 1 and 5 USB sticks, depending upon their size. A stick needs a complete folder and the top level files. My 32gb stick is too small for the full install, so I put folders 1-4 and the top level files on that and folder 5 with the top level files on a 16gb stick. When it has done all the folders from the first stick, it prompts you to insert the next one and then carries on until all five parts have been done. |
