Insurance quote
Yikes...maybe I've never had an "expensive" car before, but I just got quoted $670 per 6 months for my m2c! Hot damn!
Does this sound right? |

Mine is around $5k a year
Good driving record besides making a claim on my bumper in my old 328i from a rock or something completely wrecking the bottom of it, but I was ruled at fault. In hindsight I should have just paid out of pocket. |

It usually pays to shop around (nothing to do with Smokey Robinson, and he probably doesn't have any money worries).
If you're in California, and are a Costco member, try Ameriprise. Also, use online tools to compare rates rather than having to get individual quotes from various companies. Try combining your auto policy with your homeowners, if applicable. That's all I got. (We won't know what the new car will cost us until we get a VIN. Fingers crossed, but it can be worrisome. I was surprised that the insurance cost for an Audi S8 was way higher than a Porsche 911 GTS. Ultimately, we passed on both. There are lots of factors, and I'm sure one of them is how much money the insurance companies spend on advertising...) Last edited by BOhio; 07-31-2018 at 08:23 PM.. I hope this is a joke, that is insane. I got two quotes one was around 900 a year and the other around 1200 a year. I would give up driving if they wanted that much a year, I paid less than for my new WRX on a monthly basis back in 2014.

I think I am right around 1K a year...it comes out automatically, so I might not have the best idea to be honest.

I'd say that price sounds pretty standard. You'll hear of significantly lower rates but usually there's a "catch" such as they have a super-high deductible, or they have a friend who works at the insurer, or they have a million+ $ of stuff like boat/house/life also insured with the same provider and are getting VIP status.

Quoted $1183 annually to add the M2C to my auto and home policy. I checked online independently and it would be more than double that if not bundled with other cars and a home owners policy.
Nerd Wallet has a nice insurance tool if you're just comparing auto policies against each other. |

Wow.. One bumper claim wouldn't cause this!! Have you shopped around? That's insane. I'd request a copy of your driving record to make sure they don't have you confused with somebody that has a REALLY bad record.

Agreed.
Either you're not telling us something relevant, or something is wrong. A Bugatti shouldn't cost that much to insure.

I specifically wanted an OEM parts endorsement and don’t have another car to qualify for classic / collector car insurance (Hagerty, Rally, Grundy), so I ended up with Progressive. AAA and Farmers also offer an OEM parts endorsement, but I found them to be more expensive.

The more cars you insure the cheaper your rate will be because your M2 annual mileage will be down.
I expect $80-90 a month for my M2c.

The M2 has the M tax for insurance. This car is double what my 335 was to insure and the 335 had a higher MSRP than my M2! This is with USAA to but with annual mileage at 2k a year with 4 cars and 4 drivers. It doesn't help though that the youngest driver get rated against the M2.

average in California for this vehicle would be around $650-$800 every 6 months
(With a good record and discounts (multi coverage, multi car, etc)) |
