Not sure if they are as ropy as made out? All the groove bars unworn - and no cut line near the edge of the tyre by design anyway - *edit* No on second look with the brightness up they are toasted quite a few miles ago...
In saying that taking someone's M3 3rd party in last nights weather was just asking for trouble... |

In all fairness, as eluded to in a previous post, I'm not even sure it's his car! Most insurers won't allow you to take out third party insurance on such an expensive car so I think it's a mates car and he took it out on the basis his own insurance allowed him to drive other cars on Third Party only insurance.

Who’s liable in this instance... the guy who borrowed and crashed it, or the owner with a car not fit for the road? Either way one or both of them are seriously out of pocket.... if the insurance is void shutting a lane on the motorway is going to be thousands... without factoring in any armco replacement at £500 per section. |

But yes the driver is liable for the other damaged vehicles he hit, as it is the driver who is responsible for checking the vehicles roadworthyness, same as anyone who drives a company car/van/lorry/bus etc. |

Lots of cases where a claim for a vehicle fire have gone over £100k for closure and repair of motorway hard shoulder. Where they choose to persue this is another matter... |

Yes I know that happens, that’s why when I hit some roundabout signs (when I were a lad) I made myself scarce sharpish!
