Release Date Confusion

I'm so confused about the whole release date thing with the M2C.

I was under the impression that 9/16 was the official release date, but I keep seeing people post their pick ups.

Can someone tell me definitively what's going on please?

...like does it vary by country/region? ...just blind luck or what?

So far we know that ED for US spec cars has been banned before Sept. 17th.

Apparently US spec cars can be delivered and registered overseas.

This delivery embargo hasn't affected deliveries in Canada or Canadian ED

It is still unknown if US deliveries in the US will be held back until Sept. 17

It could be an EPA or other certification issue that needs to be cleared up before the cars can be registered in the US. Maybe the issue has already been fixed but AFAIK deliveries at the Welt for US spec cars start on September 17.

Sigh...getting an ED (for US) was a blessing and a curse it seems.

They should've let us pick it up earlier at Welt since it takes like a month to ship to the US, so that we could possibly have it at the same time as the non-EDers.

My original build week was 40. I was moved to 33 because of my requested ED date so I can't complain :-) I'll probably end up getting my car in the US about the same time anyway.

Count 8 weeks after you hand it back at the Welt. more if you use one of the remote drop off locations.

Mine should be back in US about mid December.

My last one only took about 5 or 6 weeks dropoff to pickup but I dropped off at the Port in Bremerhaven. Two days later my car was on a ship.

Is there a difference where you drop it off for delivery time? Are you saying that if someone does ED and just leaves the car at the welt it will be shipped sooner than if one picks up at the welt and then later drops it off at another drop off location? I can understand if one is dropping off in another country but how about if someone dropped it off in Munich? Would it take longer compared to just leaving the car at the welt? Lets say if someone picks up and drops off on the same day at the Munich drop off location near the airport, is there a delay in shipping back to the US compared to if someone just leaves the car at the welt?

Don't store things away. Drive it. It's not a 1928 Bugatti. Throw some snow tires on it and get loose...

I dropped my car off outside the Welt in Munich and it was on a ship a few days later.

Do you know if they drove it or trucked it to the port? I'm thinking of dropping off at a remote location this time but I don't want someone else driving it on the autobahn.

It was trucked. There were 10+ cars there at that time.

So did you have to pay €75 for trucking it to the port? Actually does it get trucked directly to the port (Bremerhaven) or to a drop off center?

I didn't have to pay anything.
I dropped it off at a drop-off center. Approx 10 miles from the Welt.
Yes it did go directly to the port.

I think that the fee comes in if you leave the car at the Welt instead of driving the car to a drop off point.

Considering the one at Bill Jacobs already sold. I don't see the 9/17 hold date being legit.
