Finally it's fully working!

It's Sonic Speed Blue, with Carbon Roof and the M Technic pack, Cognac Merino and Piano Black interior for me!

Want one!

With 680nm torque and starting at under £80k, sounds bloody appealing to me!

I'd rather have one of these with 750Nm / 553lb ft

That looks to be (at a guess) about £20k below list for what is essentially a new M5. That may bode well for those of us who would like to buy a 1 year old for £45k in 2/3 years!

It's not comparable with a 911! Even with a proper engine it still wouldn't be.

And I'm dubious that it will be s-class coupe quality (and I am not one to big up mercs!).

But it is more luxurious than a 911 and handles better than the S class coupe!

People don't buy a 911 for luxury, so those two are not competitors.

I beg to differ, apart from the GT's the 911 is a big soft GT car these days.

I really don't understand all the hate for the new 8 series, I think it's a bloody fantastic looking car with a seemingly great mix of comfort and performance

Obviously not. But one thing they ain't, are big soft GT's as you may believe!

Yes this is a BMW forum but lets not kid ourselves, the 8 is not in the same league as the 911 when it comes to driving dynamics.

More space and luxury than the 911 yes, but who buys a 911 for space and luxury!!!
