Does anyone know the reason the s55 in here produces less than the base m3/4?

Because the M2c is one less than the M3, two less than the M4.

Might not be the thread for this, but it’s as simple as BMW doesn’t want it to compete with the m3/m4 on paper so they detuned it. Probably wouldn’t sell as many m4s if they had the same hp rating and the m2c is cheaper.

hopefully there will be an easy way to "retune" it to its proper horsepower rating!

If I were shopping M3 vs M2 competition right now the M2 comp would be in strong consideration. The M2 has the rear haunches the M4 should have had and now has the power to boot
