M4 off sale for 2 months.
https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/i...p-introduction
See last para... "...M4, however, will go off sale for about two months, during which time it will be rehomologated to WLTP standards. This model is returning because the next 4 Series line-up isn’t due until 2020." |

It's getting fitted with a steel drive shaft and a PPF I guess it's then in the queue for testing in its various guises.
It does seem a bit of mess all round for the industry and consumer choice.

From 1st June. So cars in dealerships will have them already. Mine will have the steel shaft and filter Just looked at how much a CFK shaft costs on its own; £2.5k....

Is it worth holding off until everything is clearer. It's a lot to spend to be potentially dissapointed.

Mine was built 15 May so assume it's safe to say it's CF prop at that date? PS: couldn't get those pics for you as they'd sold it!

Again, a snippet I'd read on the M3/4 forum. I'm guessing that will be a start build date as opposed to delivery etc. The salesman who I went for a test drive with (actually a total petrol head and knew his stuff) mentioned that the new cars have the steel shaft as in present tense and said the one we were driving had. I would like to think yours will be CFK and hasn't been messed with. Im guessing you may be able to tell if youre able to crawl underneath and get a peak of it.

There is a massive thread on it on F80 post and it seems that some had CF shafts fitted after others had had steel ones fitted. Maybe just using up parts...
Official line seems to say March 2018 onwards now according to this post. https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...&postcount=763 I'll get underneath and have a look at some point
