I have just received the first initial rough pricing for the BMW M Peformance parts in Europe.

Be aware these are rough estimates and including VAT.

Carbon roof is 2K EUR with installation and paint is 4K EUR.
Carbon trunk is 3K EUR with installation and paint 4K EUR.
Carbon bonnet is 4.5K EUR with installation and paint 5K/5.5K.
Carbon fender set is 3.5K EUR with installation and paint 4.5K.

M Performance exhaust between 5K and 6k USD. Europe availability questionable, this is the price for US and it will definitely arrive there later this year.

All pricing are indication prices and depending on your local market. These prices are for Europe and based on the German market.

I also ran through the installation of the carbon roof with the M Performance spokesperson and he shared new windscreen and rear window are not mandatory, but in 50% of the time they might break.

Also it is recommended that you do the installation at a dealer with a body shop! They know what they are doing.

Unknown, only Europe info available. Pricing is still being adjusted for local markets now.

I don’t have much history on how much these parts typically cost, but I thought the hood would be significantly cheaper than the roof. That was the only one I was semi-interested in. I’m not sure anymore after seeing the price.

Comparing to CF diffusor which is 1300+21% in Belgium these prices seem fair...
Thanks anyway MR

Not free, no - and it will be interesting to see where the US prices come in - but 4K for the CF roof, and it doesn't even come installed from the factory?

They must be smoking something good over there....

The CFRP is $2300 minus install if you convert. Seems right about what I would think. Maybe 3k-3500 installed.

Why would anyone paint a CFRP?

Yeah that is not unreasonable at all. I would pay for it if it was $3500 installed at the port.

Including warranty? Not a weird price at all.

Wanna go cheap? Have hanky's body shop do it next door.

I find it completely realistic. I think we end up roughly 3.5K if you have someone able to make you a nice offer on the installation.

Isn't that what IND would ask you similar? I think so, so not to bad of deal for a BMW dealer. I was thinking it would be more than 5K EUR.

I am sure Hanky's shop next door will have completed exactly the same number as my local dealer - so I am not sold on the quality perspective. That remains to be seen...

Also, in terms of comparison - I find it hard to believe that the hike in an M3's price over the a 340i has 3-4K Euro based on the CF roof alone - give me a break.

I actually trust Hanky’s body shop more. They’ve probably put on roofs before so there is familiarity. I doubt anyone at the dealership will have that experience for the most part.

Wow..pricing is up the sky, yikes!!
No CF parts for me, I don't see the point of getting CF bonnet & fenders and they need to be painted anyway.

I will go for the coil overs, MP wing, racing steering wheel, and the Gold wheels

I would have no qualms about IND-Distribution installing this if I were close to Chicago.

Prices are way too high $$$$
At those prices BMW will lose the vast majority of potential sales
Very greedy and foolish BMW
Your brand used to represent value in the high end car market, not so much any longer.

These prices aren't surprising, and are in line with all current M Performance carbon fibre parts

The roof isn't as expensive as i expected!

They won't because they aren't in the business of making all their money in the aftermarket. People who want those parts will pay. If you think it's too pricey you aren't the market they are going after anyway. Also, and I can't stress this enough, they keep you vehicle warranty intact. That's mean a lot to some people.

Did you just complain that a "high end" manufacture is charging a premium for their "high end" parts?

No way was the hood going to be cheaper than a single layer carbon roof panel. Roof should be the least expensive carbon body panel.

I expected the hood to be quite pricey. It is double sided and very intricate, a lot more difficult to produce.

Yeah I don't understand. The labor alone on the roof + factor in 50% chance of having to replace front and back glass as well but is MUCH cheaper than bonnet/hood? Don't get it.

Would definitely argue SOME of these parts are overpriced. $6K for the MPE? For reference, the most aggressive exhaust that Mclaren offers for the $200K+ 570s is less than that...
