Engine oil 0w-30 from Dealer
Happy Holidays to all...
i went into my local BMW and asked for all parts for an oil change. Parts rep gave me 7 liters and a filter all for 90 bucks plus tax..after i arrived at my mechanic shop and engine oil change, i noticed the dealer had sold me BMW 0w-30. 1. Is this oil up to spec with a 2015 535 42k miles? 2. To my understanding from this forum it states 5w-30 engine oil..any advise/suggestions? 3.Should i get a second engine oil change asap or can i hold up til the next oil change interval? Thanks in advance. |

I would just call the dealer and verify if the right oil was given

It's fine.
It says "twin power turbo", more importantly it says "BMW LL-01", and it came from the dealer. For 14 years Castrol (at least) has been selling an ACEA A3 rated 0W30 which is tough enough for BMW applications. Just run it and if you want something else next time then specify, I guess, or change your own. N55s don't need magical elixir. |

It's fine...but call dealer. Dealer did same to me on my 550i, which calls for 5W-30. Came home and realized he gave me 0W-30.
I personally like 5W-30 year around in the North East region. it never drops below -10F anyway. |
