Got to love my hometown - where all the wagons live
Yarmouth, Maine, where people still buy station wagons. I grew up there, but no longer live there (can't afford to). Took my Mom up to the town office to register her car. Passed another light blue e91 pulling out of the parking lot as I pulled in with mine. Sat there for a few minutes while she paid the annual extortion. While sitting there, TWO F31s pulled in and parked. Had to take a picture:

This is the best I got picture wise. I see one or two around (almost all VFL, only two NFL models)
Its just a shame that BMW wont give us options. Just the 4 banger 4 wheel drive anymore. You can still get an NA, RWD 6 in Europe but they wont bring it in. Its why I am clutching mine like a string of pearls. When Ive taken mine in for a couple of recalls they have given me 328s and I hate the steering, the engine and nothing else seems like an upgrade. |

Yeah man it sucks we have such limited options here. I actually love the look of the F30 wagon, but the lack of a 6-cylinder option is disappointing. Especially considering BMW offer us the hideous 340 GT, which sells in minuscule numbers...
I have to wonder... Is Benz really selling that many E63 wagons that it "makes sense" for them to sell it financially, or is it more just to capitalize on a small but untapped market? I'd assume the E63 wagon isn't a big money-maker for them. So by that same logic, it would be nice if Bimmer give us a 6-cylinder wagon, if only to bring people into the brand... I'm biased here, but I have a hard time believing a 340 wagon wouldn't outsell the 340 GT. |

I see them in Atlanta (the GTs) so go figure.
The really, really annoying thing about that whole fake 328/330 thing is they only bring it in as an IX, and the turbo motors are as much gaming the EPA standards as getting better gas mileage in everyday driving. Coupled with those you arent getting better mileage than my old RWD 6. And its a more complicated system to fail. But really I blame Americans for that. I have had long debates with coworkers about AWD cars and they still buy the marketing BS. In Atlanta! Atlanta, where the city shuts down at the THREAT of snow once a decade. |

There is an e61 SGM that is always across the street from me. I should to park my e91 SGM next to his and take a pic
I could have got a F31; I don't mind the 4-cyl turbo; I'd even opt for the diesel. But AWD? Electric steering? No 6MT? No deal! For that much compromise I'd just get a Volvo. |

At least 3 in the train station garage where I park. If you’ve got a good one with 6 cylinders and 3 pedals, don’t let it go, it seems like something you’ll never be able to buy again.

I'd rather have the turbo 4 - having had rental F30 328i's it is both faster and MUCH more fuel efficient than my car. Like 30+ MPG in miserable Atlanta traffic more efficient. The steering on the new cars doesn't bother me either, the e9X steering is stupidly heavy for no good reason, not like it has any amazing amount of feel, it's just heavy. But no stick and AWD-only means I will just keep the one I have, and spend the $50K on something else. I need AWD about as much as I need a couple of ex-wives.
