Rumored / possible tariffs

Should we expect the prices to go up if administration decides to add 25% tariffs on EU imports. What about those of us who have orders in place already, can BMW raise prices in that case. Thanks for your input.

Won’t happen if EU would lower their tariffs on US built autos shipped to EU.

The question is not about the policy being right or wrong. Question is how it's going to effect customers on US side.

I keep wondering about that and what effects it will have over here.

I'm worried as well - I'm not planning to buy until next year. If the tariff gets slapped on all European car imports, it will make them unaffordable for many and not worth it to others.

When I placed order I asked general manager at the dealership and got the pricing in writing signed by them. He mentioned that he will not expect BMW to raise prices on the vehicles that have been special ordered even if something changes down the road and that's why he gave me in writing. But who knows what happens, off course if it goes up by 25%, will not get it.

I don't believe Orange Hitler will increase tariffs on European vehicles.. He's bluffing. The European market is too much of a cash cow for the US and BMW already pays substantial US taxes on all BMW SUVs produced in the plant located in South Carolina. They already pay their 'fair share.'

They like him cause they think that they're losing America to immigrants, who's also stealing their jobs and they believe that he's their savior..

Silly rabbits.. Little do they know that when Trump says he's 'looking out for the little guy' He's really talking about his dick..

Politics in this country are so polarized. I'm a news junkie and I had to stop watching the news on TV. It is so depressing what is going on and congress stands around with their *ick in their hands watching orange TV.

I'd be surprised if they make the foreign car tariffs stick, but I've been wrong many times about the passing of proposed policies of this administration.

This doesn't affect me (yet) being Canadian... Trump is waging war on us for other things.

However, if it becomes more expensive for people to buy BMWs in the US, doesn't that de facto INCREASE resale value for current owners?

The original GT-R owners experienced that, as prices for new models increased dramatically year to year the original owners were able to sell for around their original purchase price years later.

Get in while the getting's good...

The odds are 50/50 IMO. I don't trust Fat Nixon, he talks out of both sides of his mouth and his anoose too.
