Love the hatch. It should be M250i.

Tbh bmw design language has gone to the way side. Their styling is way too outlandish and their tech just isn't impressive anymore. It's sad as I have always love BMW and Now they have just become muted and numbing. The e90 and E60 were the last really visceral M cars in my opinion. Everything now is just fast, silent or terrible sounding, and super synthetic feeling. I also hate the way this car looks but that's just me

I think the styling and tech are fine, but I agree about cars like the E90, E87, E70, etc. being the last "visceral" cars not only from the ///M division but the company itself. Those cars had a very close connection with the road. Nowadays everything feels too refined and as you said, synthetic.

The newest 5-series and all their SUVs are at the top of their respective segments. But they don't get me excited. Some Bimmers like the M240, 440, M2, and M3/4 still have my attention despite not being as good as their predecessors.

Yeah they are all really fun but BMW is doing the one thing they shouldn't do, and that's do auto trannies and AWD in M Model cars. In my opinion that's a big try hard move. Maybe the me and I like seeing the wild shit that used to come out of the M factory but AWD is a huge No No because then they start putting it on every car and then every Car turns into just an ordinary car with some cool badges

The 8 is just the opposite of what you describe. It's gorgeous, sharp and very distinctive design IMO

I don't really care about that honestly. I work with 3D printers and 3D scanners all day so a camera doesn't really impress me. It might be "cool" but when BmW puts a V12 in the 8 series again maybe they will have my attention.

I get where you're coming from but I actually appreciate having AWD as it makes the car usable year-round for those of us who live in sh*tty climates. BMW will say the real reason is to get the power down.

That's literally your opinion. I see it as a "Edgy Scene kid" that's trying really hard to be relevant but at the end of the day still isn't as cool as the Ferrari Daytona. Maybe I'm an asshole, but I hate all of this electronic bullshit. It's all cancer.

So that's not tech? Lol I don't see any other cars with "tech" any better. Merc has augmented nav. That's pretty cool too but other than that what other tech are we talking about here??

It's attractive but also just looks like a "big" BMW to me. I was hoping for something that would pay homage to the original. Long hood, sharp nose, small kidneys and headlights, pillar-less windows, etc. There is a beautiful rendering online of what it should have been.

This is really just a redesigned 6-series with a new name. It's not a "real " 8-series.

Did you really just try to prove your point by saying that the BMW isn't as pretty as a Daytona and that it's trying to hard because it's not? How, in any universe, is a comparing a Ferrari's styling to BMW's even in the same conversation?

So in your "opinion" what car manufacturer at this price point or lower makes cars that aren't "trying to be a Daytona"?

Im with you re design not being the best on some modern BMWs. For example the F30 in any variation or package is uglier than sin to me. The F80 however is a thing of beauty. But that's my "opinion", I feel like the F30 in Msport is trying to be an edgy racing kid that wants to be an M3 but can't. But hey, what's that saying, opinions are like assholes.... and mine may stink to you.

Will agree with you on Merc tech especially with the new MBUX and C-class refresh.

Thank you for bringing that up. If it doesn't have pilotless windows then it's not a real 8 Series. Or is that some of their new tech.... making windows with Pilar's again?
