This cool and it is coming to the US! Seat Back Travel & Comfort System for G05 X5

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I was looking at the X5 I have coming and I spotted something neat. The X5 will come with the "travel and comfort system" built in. The back of the seat will accept attachments for things like a folding table or coat hanger. It used to a separate accessory that you had to buy but now it will be built into the seat.

haha, like an airline seat tray.....I thought as part of that item, there was going to be a USB port there also or was that part of the back headrest entertainment package?

haven't those headrest connected accessories always been available in some form? How do these tie in with the pic in the OP other than the USB and small tray?

They will now connect to the seat back as opposed to the head rest

Ah ok, I was confused about why your pics showed the connection to the head rest posts. Thanks for the clarification.

I have a feeling you will see more and more of this type of optional upgrades for new vehicles as we move closer to an autonomous mobile world. Consumers will look to these options for entertainment, business, utility, etc. as safety features like blind spot detection, lane departure, etc. become standard equipment.

Airline tray is $130 at BMW parts...saw it yesterday... I'm intrigued. Mounts to headrest poles.

I have a problem in my F15 with the USB ports in the rear being so close to the floor. My kids breaks the cables by kicking on it while charging their iPad. Now this is much better with USB-C port being so high up on the back of the seat.
