iDrive upgrade?

Hi all. First post on here, and after looking through the threads already I’m still confused. I’ve just purchased my 2015 M4 which has the NBT iDrive which I’m presuming is I drive 4. So am I right in thinking that the only way to get upgraded to 5/6 is to buy a completely new iDrive system? If so, is it exspensive? Does it void my warranty, etc.? Recommend anyone?

Yes new system. This is not a Tesla there is no OTA update to make it a new system. You would need to do a full retrofit with coding etc, which is prohibitively expensive. If you still have a warranty on 15 that covers electrical, that would be out to window for the system
