How do you like your e90?

This one is well done.
Saw this one as I was driving through my local grocery store parking lot today. Caused damaged to a couple other cars parked around as well. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with either of the two pending recalls?

Would almost guarantee it has something to do with one of the recalls. Sad to see.

Whatever the case, the owner of that burned up bucket is a lucky man.

That he was presumably not injured in the blaze.

(Or that he'll be able to buy another E90 with the insurance payout)

Probably the former

I'm curious how the insurance scenario plays out in this type of situation.

Technically it isn't collision, but comprehensive. Most comprehensive claims are single vehicle, like theft, deer strikes, vandalism, acts of God, etc. If this fire caused damage to surrounding vehicles, would that count as the owner making a liability claim and therefore raise his premiums?

Meanwhile I don't know anyone who has gotten these recalls fixed by BMW since the parts aren't available, so the owner shouldn't be on the hook. I never ran across something like this when I worked in claims. The only fires I dealt with involved a single vehicle in a driveway or on the side of the road and was covered by comprehensive...

It's my understanding that the blower motor wiring is usually a problem in hotter climates, which Rochester is definitely not (but I still miss living there, living without Wegmans is torturous).

One out of two dealerships near me has the parts.. I don't think they are upgraded parts though just a direct replacement.

Lmao! seriously! saved himself from having to fix it down the road with overpriced parts that are built to fail.
