Can I drive with a primered bumper?

Just got a mtech front bumper, and installed it to check the fitment. Can I leave it on and drive around for a few days until it gets painted or should I just throw the oem bumper back on in the meantime?

I don't want to have to do the install multiple times if I don't have to, but also don't want to mess up the new bumper.

Thanks!

Are you going to be driving behind gravel trucks? Come on man, just use logic.

Any imperfections will be seen once painted.

lol fair enough, I should have clarified that the shop will be sanding and prepping the bumper and all that, I suppose I was more curious how it would hold up to water and such

I would just take it off and drop off to shop for painting. Why drive with bumper and make it harder for the shop to prep if they have to wash off bugs and crap. If you will be installing yourself, then you can pick up and install on weekend.

Otherwise, I would just schedule it and just drop off car and bumper for paint/install. Then you can rent a car for a couple of days. Time is money.

shop might charge you more labor if the bumper has contaminates like bugs and such, which would need to be removed before it can be sanded. to answer your question no it wouldnt effect the bumper...most aftermarket bumpers come primered already.

most shops do not trust aftermarket primer, so they just sand and primer anyways.
