factory engine oil

Is the Castrol oil (BMW badged engine oil 5W-30) a BMW LL-01 or LL-04 designated oil? thanks - I saw a post awhile back where someone posted a picture of the back of the bottle

BMW started using LL-04 oils in '04... hence the name.

I have info from a 2007 bmw tech info dvd that says LL-04 sould only be used with engines in europe.(fuel issues in US and other areas)
LL-01 is what should be used in the US

Well, at least they actually give you a specific recommendation for your car. Probably cheaper than BMW's oil, too.

Have you checked Castrol's site? The 335i isn't even listed in the "which oil to buy" guide. Redline is also not helpful in this regard.

Actually if you get the oil with your CCA discount its not really much more expensive them Mobil One.
