check that your amplifier is not swimming in water... whats what happened to mine.. it sounded staticky and lame, then it stopped working. i checked backed there and bamm it was a swimming pool. Open your trunk, its located on left side

Its a 2006 E91 wagon and the radio has just stopped working, just interference.Somebody has told me there are wires at the back right top when the hatch is open and there is probably a break in a wire as they become brittle in a car this old.Any advice would be much appreciated.
