Australian Specifications for M2C

Hello everyone. I am new to this forum but I currently have reserved a place with my dealer for the M2C. I was considering getting the Audi RS3 but after driving both cars (M2) there is no comparison when it comes to the way this car drives and the thrill you get from driving it. I am sure the M2C will be even better than the current M2.

My dealer has provided me with the specifications for the Australian delivered cars and costs for the options. No base price yet, but as soon as I have it I will provide details. This is what I have worked out is what you get in the base spec that many people seem to be talking about. Most of this is very similar to the current M2 specification for Australia as we get them fully loaded with minimal options.

- 7 Speed DCT is standard (6MT is a no cost option)
- Adaptive LED headlights
- Rear lights with LED technology
- 19" M light alloy wheels 788M
- Bootlid 'M2 Competition' insignia in high-gloss black
- Dual Exhaust system in Black Chrome with electronically controlled flaps
- M sport seats with illuminated 'M2' badge in headrests
- Door sill finishers with 'M Competition' designation
- lumbar support for drive and front passenger
- Seat adjustment, electric with memory function for drivers seat
- HK sound system

Options are:

- 29U 19" M light alloy wheels Y-spoke style 788M, jet black with mixed tyres $500
- Metalic paint $1,547
- 248 Steering wheel heating $400
- 2NH M sport brake $3,000
- 302 Alarm System $850
- 403 Glass sunroof $2,600
- 420 Sun protection glazing $660
- 441 Smokers package $60
- 465 Through loading system $500
- 494 Seat heating for driver and front passenger $650
- 6CP Apple car play $623 for 3 yr subscription
- 6NW Wireless charging for smartphone $200
- Z9A 6MT NCO

I will be getting the jet black wheels, sport brakes, sun protection glazing, seat heating and wireless charging.

Hope this information is useful.

Are you sure the DCT is standard option? It's always been that the car comes 6 speed and the DCT is a 2-3k option.

Yes pretty sure according to the document I have. It's listed in the standard equipment and in the optional equipment it's listed as NCO.

Given the DCT is more costly sounds like a BMW is gouging a bit.

Might be the market you are in..

Someone posted this from Austria I believe it was? See how the Manual vs DCT shows as an option at extra cost.

Every M2 I have seen at a dealership here is a DCT. I thought I had seen a brochure where the M2 Pure was the 6MT.

Interesting, do we know if there is there any mention of Comfort Access being an option? That's one box I wish I ticked for my 1M
Also, reverse camera, is there one or is it all just sensors?

What is the comfort access?
I believe you still get the rear camera and you now have sensors at the front and rear.

Comfort Access basically allows you to open the car door and start the engine without having to touch the key. Really cool feature.

Was a $1500 option on my 1M

If you mean you can open the car with the key in your pocket then it has that and you have the start button so again no key for that.

Couldn't imagine the forum meltdown if DCT was standard in US with the $2900 baked in the msrp and manual was a no cost option.

Safe to assume they will be standard as with the current car. Aside from the new Comp options (brakes/interior/exterior colours) that Options list is pretty much identical to the current car. As the Pure version isn't shown on the new Options list (it is for the current cars) I'd guess it's been dropped.

I think they would form a lynch mob and go after someone at BMW.

Who knows what the marketing strategy is at the moment. They may come out it's a 'M2C Pure' package at some point, but I doubt it would be an initial offering. My dealer was pitching a price range of $120-$125K initially with me which I think is a bit steep. If the US and other price rise is around 3-4% then I am hoping that its similar for Australia given that the new brakes are an option. I am hoping that the base prices is under $120K.
