Control unit for the M2C

Does anyone have information regarding which ECU is going to be used in the M2 competition? I have a fear that due to the added OPF they are going to switch to a Contenital MG1, this might be a game changer for a lot of people as it means no flash tune (port or boot) for at least a few years. This is of course assuming they have the same level of security as other manufacturers.

Seriously doubt they would mate a new ECU for the S55 in just the M2c. This engine has been in production for what 4 years now? and hasnt been changed for either M3, M4 or GTS other than software for any of the updates or LCI's

Id say the chances are slim.

I hope you guys are correct, but I've yet to see an MEx17 ECU with GPF (OPF that BMW calls it).

Is the particulate filter the reason the muffler is so large and will USA cars also be equipped with it?

BL: Yes, the particulate filter is the reason the muffler is so large at the back. The U.S. market will get an exhaust WITHOUT the filter. The filter is ONLY for Europe. The M Performance exhaust will also get the OPF filter installed. The U.S. market will NOT get the filter on the titanium M Performance exhaust.

Well that makes me curious how they’re going to handle the two markets, as far as ECU’s. Good to know they’re not bringing it here though.
