So for those with the car already.

Are we back to using brake pedal at stop lights or will the vehicle stay in place as with dcts on flat surfaces? Thanks!

I know pulling the e brake lever is always an option...

There's an Auto hold feature with auto transmissions. F10 5 series had this feature also.

Autohold works great, but I don't find that stepping on the brake at a light a big issue.

I've been driving for years and usually need to hold the brake to keep the car from moving at a light. Manual or Auto transmissions. So what are you talking about?

All of my DCT cars won’t go forward at a level spot such as a stop light. If it’s an incline it rolls back.

The M5 has torque converter, so no DCT.

My M2 had DCT and rolled at stop lights.

If that helps.

You said pulling E brake is an option. That's not what I'm talking about. There's an Auto hold feature Everytime you stop automatically.

You don't have to use your brakes. I assume this is the same set up as the ZF trans in the x5m. I can let off the brakes after coming to a full stop without using the auto-hold feature. The auto-hold is different as it actually engages a brake until you hit the gas. In the x5m, it basically feels the same as the DCT in my m3 at a stop.

Not in the new M5. It creeps forward like any other Auto and Audi stronic and PDK.

The auto-hold feature is amazing and it's an actual button that is easy to access if you want to use it situationally. I use it in city traffic.

Park with DCT or PDK with no creep and it gets old really fast especially having to give gas in reverse in tight spots

The "no creep" doesn't really bother me at all even in reverse. I may just have gotten used to it from so many years w/ DCT.

Could be right. I'm just used to the PDK, it feels like you get big bursts of power when you're feathering throttle to park. Especially on an incline it's a power push

I tend to change to P (park) while standing in longer lights in an automatic car. Saves your leg and the brake lights

I've been in F10 M5's since 13' and honestly don't know what the heck I do at lights LOL. I think I keep my foot on the brake although w/ DCT it's generally not necessary on flat surfaces.

Apologies for being off-topic, how does the F90 compare at reversing ? - select reverse in comfort in my non-modded F10 and the lightest touch on the throttle gives you whiplash and spins the wheels as you are trying to reverse park.

Since it is behaves like any other torque converter auto, the car will creep forward if you don't touch either pedal. You can modulate the speed of the creeping with the brake, just like any other auto.

There is and how do you engage it? Maybe the M-Sport I have, eliminates the option? In my Benz, you simply hold the pedal till the "hold" light comes on.
