What's it supposed to do differently?

My E46 Climate windscreen just looks like clear glass. I have no idea whether it reduces the interior temp, but I know one thing, I will not get it on my E90 (which I will order when I can order a facelift model) since it makes my radar detector much less sensitive so as to make it useless.

I have not seen or noticed a climate windscreen on a newer BMW. On E46 models it was obvious as the screen had a metallic pink/purple haze to it as some higher spec Renaults have. It may be more difficult to see if the spec or colour has been changed. I toyed with the idea of this option but went for Grey Shade Screen instead.
PS any deals with your mate on Zymol products? |

Carrerarsr send me a pm any Zymol you interseted in because zymol do not allow discounts and will terminate any dealers doing so.I do have a brand new sealed pot of concours that retails for £164 if you are interested and some other bits.I used 1/4 of a pot doing about 20 coats on my Audi's so it is very economical when you work it out.Cheers.

I have the climate screen on mine and in certain light it does have a purple tint to it. However, I've never had it against a normal screen to compare. If I remember rightly, it also comes with the auto windscreen wiper option, so it should have the rain sensor just below the interior mirror.
It does block GPS signals, so I've have to route an external antenna to the rear screen for my TomTom. In addition, IMO, it has no effect on the internal temp at all! I had it fitted as I spec'd black leather and though it would help keep the seats cooler in the hot weather. Last week, the seats were almost unbearable after the car had been sat facing the sun for 1/2 a day. I wouldn't go for it again if I get another Beemer.

Thanks jonsteele,I have professional nav specced so that will all be ok.It does not really surprise me that it is of very little use,I think I should have gone for the usb option instead! but I can never find my ipod anyway. At least auto lights and wipers should be ok.Thanks again.

I've got it on my E46. It would be good if the car magazines did a real test to see if it does work as I doubt the claim of 10 degrees celsius. Farenheit perhaps but with all the other glass acting as a greenhouse, I think having the screen in isolation is not worth having.

I have it on my car, my comments:
-no idea if it helps at all -haven't had any problems with my handheld GPS - next time I try it in and out of the vehicle to see what effect it has -don't really notice it on the windshield -around the mirror area there is a part not covered, could be so radar detectors still work Conclusion: if your concern is a radar detector it is probably too risky to order it, if you concern is GPS, probably not an issue Given the choice again I probably wouldn't order it. The problems it can 'potentially' create seem to outweigh the benefits that 'potentially' exist.
