Comfort Access Issue
i have a 2011 e92 335i xdrive....i noticed both my door handles stopped unlocking my doors. they used to work....trunk opens with key in pocket....car starts the same way. i have a new battery registered a week old...but my comfort access on both doors just stopped working out of nowhere before i replaced my battery....any insight on what to do to troubleshoot this annoying first world problem lol

CA handles area common failure. If you pull it and are lucky it could be the wiring frayed and you can fix, otherwise you must replace entire handle its not fixable. An easy validation is if you can find an E90 style handle that works, swap it on: if your CA starts working again, that's the issue. If they both failed at the same time, seems unlikely its the handle part that is bad, but rather controller related.
BTDT on a 2014 X1 already, one new drivers handle later from a wreck and its back in business. - b |
